WP1
Work Package 1 is the horizontal work package on project management and coordination that will ensure the day-to-day management of the project is according to planning. It will ensure alignment with the rest of the ecosystem of data spaces.
Specific objectives are to:
- Establish decision-making and governance mechanisms.
- Carrying out the project management.
- Ensuring fulfilment of the work plan, including quality assurance and control, risk management, continued reporting to the European Commission, and communication between the consortium partners.
- Alignment with stakeholders and other initiatives through workshops and round table conferences.

Work Package 2 contributes to the overall objectives of INDICATE to:
- Define a set of flexible Common Data Models related to the INDICATE use cases (WP6) in support of data interoperability and data federation.
- Select terminologies and standards for semantics and interoperability for the above data.
- Specify the requirements and provide guidance for data pre-processing (ETL operations), interoperability and quality and privacy control for secondary use of health data for research and innovation, including a minimum viable and full data interoperability and integration framework.
- Specify the requirements and provide guidance for EHR-integration of (AI-based) decision support applications.
- Provide data pseudonymisation and anonymisation strategies so that data providers are in full compliance with GDPR, national laws, and institutional policies.

Work Package 3 aims to establish governance and business models to secure the long-term sustainability of the infrastructure beyond the project’s completion.
This work package also considers the ethical, legal, and social dimensions of data access within the infrastructure, ensuring adherence to data security, privacy regulations, and relevant legislation.
It will take the relevant stakeholders into account at regional, national, European, and global levels, including data controllers, data users, service providers, the healthcare workforce, systems, and public authorities and taking into account the role of SME in the value chain.

Work Package 4 focuses on the technical implementation of the federated infrastructure for ICU data with the aims:
- of deploying an interoperable and secure federated infrastructure for trusted ICU datasets in the EU with interoperable links to other federated data infrastructures;
- providing secure and interoperable platforms for aggregation of ICU data sets for secondary analysis and training of AI algorithms, and;
- offering an easy-to-access front end in four EU languages. It encompasses a central node that provides the core functionalities of the infrastructure required for the effective implementation of the governance, such as distributed data access, an integrated toolbox, and components for trust and data privacy.

Work Package 5 is dedicated to disseminating and communicating the project’s outputs to the relevant target groups and stakeholders, including data providers, data users, service providers, healthcare workforce, systems and public authorities and while considering clinicians, researchers, and innovative SMEs needs in particular.
- This work package includes the development of an acquisition and retention strategy to ensure exploitation by explaining and showing possible incentives for collaboration for all stakeholders.
- It will also work towards a comprehensive knowledge platform in addition to education and training materials that facilitates optimal utilisation of the infrastructure by data controllers, data users, service providers, and infrastructure providers.

Work Package 6 will demonstrate six clinical use cases.
These use cases drive the development and implementation of the infrastructure to ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs of the health care work force and other users.
The use cases will be the starting point for the implementation road map and facilitate design and development in co-creation with the clinical workforce.
